Cozybyte / Help & support
How to use Cozybyte
and where to get help.
Start with what you’re seeing. Cozybyte reads your PC’s disk, memory, processor and connection, and helps you understand a possible next step.
How do I ask a question?
Open Cozybyte and, on Home, describe the problem in the message box, for example “Wi-Fi keeps dropping”. Add when it happens and any message you see. Cozybyte reads your PC, then explains the evidence and what it has not checked. With AI troubleshooting on and a Plus subscription, it can also ask an AI model to look at what it found.
Can Cozybyte make a change?
Yes, and you decide how. By default (Ask me), Cozybyte shows you each change first and waits for your yes. Cozybyte never touches your personal files. The Terms of use describe what Cozybyte may change.
What do Tell me, Ask me and Fix it for me do?
Tell me only explains what Cozybyte found. Ask me, the default, offers a fix and waits for your click. Fix it for me also does the safe ones by itself, like refreshing Windows’ list of website addresses (this doesn’t touch your browser history) or turning an app off from starting with Windows, and tells you in Activity. Closing an app always asks first. Choose under “When Cozybyte finds something” in Settings.
How do I turn AI troubleshooting on or off?
Open Settings and find AI troubleshooting. “Use AI to help troubleshoot” is on when you have a Plus subscription, unless you turn it off, and an off you choose is kept. On Free it is off, because Free never calls a model. “Share app names with AI” is a separate switch: with it off, the AI answers without knowing which apps are open. AI answers also need you to be signed in and have a Plus subscription, and the chip on Home says whether AI is on.
How do I pause monitoring?
Cozybyte runs a full check about every 4 hours, and watches for low space and connection drops in between. Open Settings, and under Background checks turn off “Check in the background” to stop them. You can still choose “Check now” any time. “Keep Cozybyte running in the notification area” (the small icons by the clock) is on by default; turn it off and closing the window quits Cozybyte, or choose Quit Cozybyte from its icon by the clock to close it completely.
What can Cozybyte see?
Cozybyte reads disk space, memory, processor use, your connection, the apps using the most memory, the apps that start with Windows, and a few security and crash signals. It does not open your documents, photos, browser history, or saved passwords. Most of it stays on your PC. What can leave it, and when, is in the Privacy policy.
How do I delete my chats?
Chats are saved only on your PC. To delete one, open the chat list, choose the “…” next to it (or right-click it), choose Delete, and confirm. To delete them all, open Settings > Chat history and choose “Delete all chats”.
How do I send a support report?
Open Settings > Help with Cozybyte itself. There are two ways. “Save a report for support…” saves a file where you choose, so you decide who gets it. “Send a report to Cozybyte support” uploads the same redacted report and shows a short code; read it out or paste it in an email so support can find it. Cozybyte keeps a sent report 30 days. Either way, the report leaves out your questions unless you tick “Include what I asked Bit”.
Does Cozybyte need administrator rights?
Not for everyday checks and fixes. Cozybyte asks for administrator permission only when you say yes to a specific repair or update, and Windows asks you each time. Cozybyte shows the exact step first, makes a restore point before an administrator repair, and never does this under Fix it for me. Cozybyte is not a Windows service.
Where can I sign in?
Use a passkey, or email yourself a one-time link from Sign in or Create an account. The link signs you in, or creates the account if you are new. If this device does not have a passkey yet, Account recovery can add one without removing the passkeys you already have. A passkey sign-up still confirms the email before My Account opens. The email link confirms the address when you open it.
How do billing and cancellation work?
Nothing is due until you choose to get a Plus subscription. Cancel any time in My Account to stop the next renewal. Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and there are no prorated refunds. You can undo the cancellation until that date. If a payment doesn't go through, paid features pause right away and free checks continue; update your card in My Account and they come back as soon as the payment succeeds. Prices are on the home page and in the Terms of use.
How does a household work?
The person who creates the account is the owner. The owner can change billing, remove a computer, and delete the household. A caregiver and the person at the PC can approve a step, but cannot change the card or delete the household. If you are setting Cozybyte up for someone else, create the account yourself, then install Cozybyte on their PC from the download page and sign in there. Cozybyte still shows each change and waits for a yes, and Activity lists what it did.
How do I remove a computer?
In My Account, revoke the computer you no longer want on the subscription. That computer is signed out of Cozybyte. On the PC, sign out of the Windows app as well. To delete the whole household, the owner chooses Delete household in My Account and confirms with a passkey or a sign-in email link.
How do I uninstall Cozybyte?
Open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps, find Cozybyte, choose the “…” next to it and choose Uninstall. This removes the app. Your account stays, and so do the chats and settings saved on that PC, so Cozybyte picks up where it left off if you install it again; delete your chats first (see “How do I delete my chats?”) if you want them gone. The steps are also on the download page.
